Thank you to all those who have followed me on twitter and sent wonderful tweets. Thanks to all of you on GetShipwrecked.co.uk for taking such a big interests in the show and sharing your thoughts and to Ash for running the forum.
But most of all thank you to all those that have visited and supported andrewdearling.com. I ran the blog to give you a deeper insight into the show and to act as a sort of time capsule for myself to revisit in years to come.

andrewdearling.com has had 11,000 visits over the last 16 weeks from all over the world. I’m not overly sure why people in Georgia, Texas and Alabama want to view my blog or why people in Vietnam, Crotia, Malaysia, Qatar or China would have any interest in Shipwrecked but I’m grateful for the hits.
All sorts of key words have bought people to the blog. Many such as “Andrew Dearling” “Shipwrecked” “Maz” “Hollie” “Greg” etc. There were also a whole host of hits from “Dan and Xanthi, Attitude Magazine” and various shipwrecked girls names & “topless” or “naked”. A few of my favourite search terms were “who did sonny have sex with on shipwrecked 2009”, “Maz from shipwrecked’s boobs” and “who is Andrew Dearling?”
This is my final Shipwrecked Blog, so thank you to all of you who have visited, I hope you enjoyed it.
Love
Andrew x
The day before the Shipwrecked Finale was a busy one. First we hit the T4 studio for a mini reunion show.
Then some more Shipwreckers turned up for the Wrap Party.

...this time from Charlie. Head over to Charlie’s Website to read it in full, but here is a snatch;
Doug, resident on Shark Island is a religious sort of bloke. When the Tigers asked him what his ambitions were, he replied he’d like to start a church, be successful and be able to support his future family. It appears that this totally discredited him to the Tigers with some of them, Silkie and Hollie in particular both saying: “I don’t want that money to go to a church.”
How can two well-educated women have such disregard for something that so many people believe in? I’m not a religious person, I don’t go to church and I’m not even really sure if I believe in god and all that stuff. However, I still acknowledge that there are a lot of people in this world who do believe in that. Not only do people believe, religion, church and community is something that provides a tremendous amount of comfort to a lot of people, and to totally disregard that simply because they don’t believe in it themselves is ludicrous! Would they rather give the money to Mark to be frittered away on a Pug, a laptop, a trip to New York and whatever other things he dreamed up to add to his shopping list? It really did shock me that today’s youth could be so disrespectful and ignorant to the realities of life.

Here is a nice blog I stumbled upon by Cassandra, a shipwrecked fan:
Shipwrecked 2009 Finale: Who won? Who won?
Okay, so I already know the answer…DON’T read this if you don’t want it spoiled for ya! (If you DO want to know who won, you can find out below!)
Leading Up To the Finale
Going into the finale, several members of different tribes had been stolen and sacrificed due to a late twist in the game. From the Tigers, Liam and Hermione were sacrificed to the Sharks. From the Sharks, Dan and Adam were stolen and Doug was sacrificed to Tigers. These were really awful switches all around, as so late in the game of course people were extremely loyal to their own tribes. These tribe members all had a hard time with it and chose different tactics to cope with their situations, from moping on the beach (Liam) to spying and scheming (Dan).
I’m a HUGE Shark fan, but I know there are Tiger fans out there reading this blog, too, so my two favorite ’scenes’ from both tribes were…

Greg... here is what he had to say on winning the 70k:
But some Sharks aren’t happy. Here’s Dan and Xanthi responding to Greg.

You have been voting on GetShipwrecked.co.uk and you think the New arrivals thought Mark was gay the most closely followed by me.
Here are the full results as voted by you:
But! Did any of the new arrivals finger Dan and Xanthi (so to speak) as the only gays on the island?
Well here are the results...

Today I hand the reigns of andrewdearling.com over to Kevin who will take you on a magical journey of Shark Raps, Bubbly Dispositions and Thriller inspired Zombie Dances.
Take it away Kevin...
Given that the show was running in to its penultimate week, we were expecting the game to heat up. Over on Tigers, Shark Dan was dividing the camp over the killing of the pig: On Sharks, Liam was well... naked, but we always thought he was up to something more nefarious.
Geri's bubbly disposition probably made her the consummate new arrival for the point in which she came. We'd lost two new arrivals in a row, coupled with two of our own tribe and if we didn't win Geri we were out of the game.
Thankfully we all managed to gel with Gerri and the dance off for her Island Law was hilarious... after the boys (fabulously chorographed by HBIC Mark) were robbed of their title in the Male vs Female expo, we had a singles free style dance off which ended up with Andrew, Lois and myself in the final 3. They really do cut the best bits.
The previous week we'd brought our A-game to the Beach Party with a Thriller (kind of) inspired Zombie dance to welcome the Tigers to the Beach Party. Given Gerri's love of dance and how we as a tribe had an affinity for getting down, we attempted to top our previous performance with an American Cheerleading style routine consumnating in another suspect rap from yours truely... Why I kept subjecting myself to the routine embarassment is probably a duality of my lack of self respect and not wanting to let 'good' corn rows go to waste.
The rap isn't on iTunes yet, but here are the lyrics for anyone interested
G to the E to the R to the I
21, Italian, sexy and fly
You came to the Sharks and tought us to
Sing and dance, just like you
Now I rock this chain from day to day
and I rock this bench at the Beach Party (parté, as referenced in every movie made during the 90s)
We're the S to the H to the A-R-K's
All my Sharks lemme hear you say
Who's House
-SHARK'S HOUSE
Now we hope you liked our chant and our groove
'Cos we did it, just for you
played out by miscellaneous whooping
Check it out:
Andrew here again... Just want to include a small addendum to the Blog.
Part of the song was written by Dan... in his sleep. He had an uncanny ability to wake up with fully formed shark chants. The one in the clip went like this:
We are the Sharks,
we leave our marks,
on the flesh of the Tigers skin.
We're number one,
at having fun,
and thats why we're going to win.
